I got Bored Again
« on: August 29, 2010, 10:00:50 am »
Well I got bored again, while waiting to get my Permits and Licence for the new Shop. I decided to be creative again, so I had this old go-kart and a old rear engine Craftsman laying around the shop, Well i guess the photos tell it all, It's something for the Kids to play with, also the young 1's also. the only thing I need to do is get a clutch on it and then test it, then will strip it down for some paint,
The only name I could come up with is the MOWKART.

There was an issue of Grass Roots Motorsports magazine that they where turning the old rear engine John Deere's into yard karts. They where mostly stepping the motors down to 5 hp push mower engines because they said it was plenty fast. They where turning the steering column like the one on yours. Looked real neat.

I am new to building mowers and carts, I was wondering how you transfer the power to the rear wheels, I am wanting to build a similar cart/tractor with a 19hp bottom shaft but have clue on how to. photos and parts used would help. thanks James
