Just sharing my experience.  So no problem

Did you get a "donor" bike bought yet?

You could use the original tranny if you can find a way to chop the engine off of it!   That is why the Harley tranny works so well.  It is a speperate part from the engine, unlike most japanese bikes where the tranny and engine are 1 piece.

still havent gotten it yet
called and left a voicemail today so hopefully i will hear back

the bike is an 1989 honda rebel 250, motors bad but it has new tires and a new battery

alright thats what i needed to know

ive seen bikes built with a comet type torque convertor
would this be any different or would i have the same issues?

i know they use these on ridley bikes, not sure what exact brand but it looks like this

 Just my  :twocents: But I think that this setup (as good as it may work) just looks cheap.  Now this is me, Not to take away anything on a ride I would love to have. Mamma wont let me have a bike......... said I will get run over by some idiot and she aint havin that. But I digress. I just think that a big primary belt runnin back to a harly type tranny would LOOK cool. thats all... Ill be in the corner dreamin about bikes now..... :bash:

yeah at this point im thinking the harley trans would be the way to go

i went and picked up the free motor.... sighhh

not a vanguard like i was told but a 18hp opposed twin..

so now im on the hunt for a horizontal shaft vanguard if anyone has one?

also anyone looking for an 18hp briggs horizontal twin? got one for sale i guess
