I am buying a craftsman 4 speed from a friend, it just needs a new carb float. Im not gonna make it into a racer, but it is going to be a woods mower with quad tires and a pulley change. Are these tecumusehs reailble and can they hold up like a briggs?

This engine is certainly reliable. It utilizes an oil pump system
for lubrication, which is a plus.  If the engine's been sitting for
some time with gas in the carb....you may have problems getting
the carb sufficiently clean for optimum performance.  Crankcase
holds EXACTLY 1 qt. of motor oil, by the way, so there's no guesswork
when changing the oil.  HAVE FUN !!!!
