Hey Les. Run a 930 series trans on my sons mower. I have stripped it, locked the diff, fitted bearings to the axle shaft ( none there from stock ) and filled it with gear oil to the base of the shifter shaft. It has 4 shifter keys. I run the trans in its stock location and chain drive from one end of the axle shaft to a separate solid axle mounted on cassette bearings above the trans to effectively lower the mower. I thought of flipping the trans but seemed too hard. It has done three race meets and so far so good. Hope this is of some help.
If it has blades I'm not interested.

Lots of guys running 930's.
What are you running for an engine?

To flip it , you just mount it upside down, make sure you have a good input shaft seal.

Unless that flatty is just a monster hp engine, the 930 should serve you well.
