Topic: 14hp opposed

hello group i have a 14hp opp. and having some problems hope you can help    it will run with the choke on but take it off and it stops running it does have a fuel pump mounted on carb. i feel that im 98 percent that its the fuel pump am i right thanks group Les

My opposed did that when I first got it. Ended up that the needle was missing out of the factory main jet. It was right on the front under the air cleaner. May check for that. Sounds like a fuel mixture problem to me as your tank should gravity feed enough to run if this is a race mower

it was going to be used for a racer but this problem come up so its still on the factory chassie for now thanks i will take a look at that

99% of the time that is caused by either a dityr carb or weak pump.
the other 1% weird stuff happens to weird people! 

The 14HP opposed is not worth spending your money on to make a race engine ouot of, great for grass cutters! Look for an 18hp or bigger if your going to spend the time and money to modify it!
