Make your own bacon press out of mower parts.
« on: June 01, 2010, 10:01:24 pm »
If there's one thing I like more than anything its bacon. I have a large cast iron pan that I use to fry up lots of bacon about every weekend. It always annoys me that it tends to curl up. I've seen some of those cast iron bacon presses and thought about getting one but they're kind of expensive for what they are. So... I made my own out of scrap steel from the mower deck, a belt guide, and what used to be the shifter lever and knob. I cleaned the crap out of it and oiled it up real good. I used it this weekend and believe it or not it works great.
Nip it in the grass!
