Which Should I Choose???????
« on: October 14, 2006, 09:44:08 pm »
I have a 12.5hp briggs and a 14 OHV briggs and i need to decide on which one to use.  The 12.5 is I/C.  I like the OHV cause its bigger but theres the valve float problem with the higher RPM.  Which one should i use??? I want to run in F/X class and the budget is kinda tight

regardless which you use you will float the bvalves at high rpm with stock springs. E.C. Distributing sells springs and retainers that will solve your issues. 29.95 a pair.

stiffer springs are not gonna wear out your cam, not unless something is wrong with it to begine with. The springs are used to keep the valves in control and on the cam lobe surface instead of bouncing around.
