I'm not sure what happened to the original poster. But as for my case I took it apart again and checked my timing. That was all good. I looked and felt everywhere thinking maybe I left something in the engine. All good there. I have no idea what the problem is. Maybe a bad spark knock??

Did you make sure the synco gear/ shaft was still in time with the crank?

Which one is the synco gear?? Look at the picture I posted and tell me which one it is please

You have 3 gears, Crank Gear, Cam Gear & Synchro Gear.
The Synchro gear is the one not attached to the Crank or Cam  ;)

Thanks man. I honestly think my problem is deeper than that though. I had it running and it ran like  :censored: . It sounded like metal smacking together and would shoot smoke through the intake when the throttle was hit. Im pulling the head off today, but ill also check the syncro.

Sounds to me it's out of time. That would be the first thing I checked. Pull the bottom off and check cam timing and syncro timing.

Also did you remove the compression release?

Compression release?? Where is that?
