Well if I'm not mistaken...

First you need a set of front disc spindles, as you must have mounting brackets for the caliper.  http://www.cometkartsales.com/store/brakes/cksmiqs.htm

You will also want a Bias Adjuster so you aren't locking up the one end before the other starts stopping. http://www.cometkartsales.com/store/brakes/cksparts.htm

Then you need the Brake Kit http://www.cometkartsales.com/store/brakes/paulfbkt.htm

I can set you up with a set of Hegar front brakes 425.00 no welding just cut a 3/16 key way in your spindle. I make a T bar type mechanical bias out of aluminun stock I have laying around works well. These brakes fit inside a 6 inch wheel with no more than a 2.5 back spacing.

They'll stop you... just not as quick! Not everyone is running front brakes, in fact I'd have to say most probably are not.

You may be able to find them cheaper too Corey, I just grabbed the first link that came to mind in search of a Front Brake Kit. You occasionally find deals on E-Bay while searching for Kart parts too.

See I was right... we already found them cheaper!

They can be added at a later date, but you may want to plan everything out ahead of time to make sure you configure the axle properly when you build it or order it. Wouldn't want to have to change axles at a later date. Sounds like with George's set up there would be no change in axle length, and it could be added at any time by cutting the keyway in the axle.

If he doesn't get back in here shortly, E-mail George Corey, and see what he says. I honestly don't know what all is involved in his front end brake set up, and what you might need there.

Quit honestly I can't speak for Acme front axles. If it were me I would order for the bigger wheel setup. Although they do fit right on a 5/8 axle they do require just a little bit more room than a normal hub and wheel.

Not to my knowledge but I think there is enough meat to bore the hub out to 3/4 and rekey. But its just a think thing not sure. Prolly cheaper to get 5/8 spindles.
