opposed rods

i have a 42 pressure lube and i wanted to know if i can use 42 or 40 splash lube rods in it are they the same they look the same and is there anything i can do to a stock rod to improve it i know if i go with the 40 rods i have to shave the pistons thanx

If you are building this for racing, don't use old rods, get atleast new ones that go in it.
That goes for any motor. That 42 pressure lube is a good motor, don't risk jacking it up, to
save a few bucks.

ARC makes both splash and pressure rods, don't mees that block up, they are hard to find! If anyone has any pressure lube 42 parts please PM me..lol..

The rods are not the same. The pressure lube rod has a smaller hole in the beam for oil to escape versus the big splash lube hole in the dipper motors.
