22hp V Twin What do I have ?
« on: March 19, 2010, 05:42:54 pm »
Ive got a motor that is in a Craftsman mower that is labeled Kohler pro 22hp
Family  YKHXS.7252GC
Displacement  674
If these number are no good where should I look for better numbers?

What cubic inch is this? Any good part inside, Is it worth building?  Can I make little hp or Big HP!!  Tell me what I have and is it worth putting money into it?

Thanks Chris

If its a Kohler, as far as I know there are not a whole lot of aftermarket parts for them for racing.

That engine is 41.1 cubic inch.  That model number doesn't pull up on Kohler web site but if it a Command engine there are a ton of performance parts for it.  The wallet is the only limit on what you can get for it.  Visit www.midwestsupercub.net or www.lakotaracing.com and check out the Command areas.  They are pulling sites but the only difference needed for racing is the cam.  Either one can grind you a race cam and Mike at Precision Cams has a very good grind also.  If it is a Courage engine I don't know much about them.
