If there is no dirt or rust on the rim and tire, you can smear a little gease on it and air it up and run it for a bit, sometimes they just need to rub on the rim to seat good. Also, hitting the tire on the sidewall with a hammer with an inside out motion will seal the bead.  Hope that might help.

Anytime I mount a tire tubless I use some tire patch glue I buy it in a can with a brush. I run it around the rim lip and or tire bead seats easier and seals the bead. But I never run a race tire tubelss anymore.

They do make a bead sealer, ugly soft rubber stuff, will fill any pits in the rim and sorta stick to the tire. Your local garage should have some, maybe not, they may not see enough old rusty rims there. Out here in ND they're pretty common though and most small town gas stations have a can around the tire machine someplace.

Ugly stuff to get off your hands though. Usually takes a few days for it to wear off!  :?

Yeah... that's about what it is!

Don't recall name brand but it's called "Bead Sealer" right on the can.

Just some ugly black gooey stuff! Turns to rubber when it dries, except on your hands there it turns to... Well, you get the idea!

Doesn't come out of your clothes real well either. See -

That tire sealer is what is neded for a stubborn tire i have. The tire is not old, nor brittle,
just has a tear in the bead area from a rusty rim on breakdown.
The grease method and tire patch glue methods did not work.
Thanks for the links mowdak1.

Yep! Not a problem!! It will fix goodies like that, guaranteed!! Been there and done that routine.

If you use it on something of that nature Marc, you may have to wire brush the rim when you replace the tire next time, (worst case scenario), as there "may" be a good chunk of rubber stuck there after the fact (it doesn't always stick to the tire). It usually comes off the rim pretty easy with a wire brush in the drill motor, unless of course it's truck tire, then you might want the wire brush in the grinder for a little more snort! And, in rare cases of someone having applied multiple coats to large holes in the bead... the ole putty knife comes in handy!

It's some fun stuff! Especially if you paint your buddies armpits with it while he's passed out!

If I ever make it up in your neck of the woods for a race, I will NOT stay the night near you... hahahahaha

As for tools, there is a air die grinder, angle grinder, and lectric band file sander at my ready. The angle grinder
with a flap wheel puts a smooth finish on the metal. Not alot of people get our toys, so i can talk about them
here... lol Also I have some rol-lok disks the polish up the metal as well. Did I mention I have done a little
head porting, and waiting to give these mower heads a try too. I am grunting like Tim the Toolman Taylor right now. ugh ugh lol
