if you putt a turbo charger and get air from exauste like the one i got do you have to connect the 2 line to go to the radiator to cool down the bearings and is there another kind of ideal that you guys have for blowing more hair in to the carb that is simple to do need pictures thanks denis

is there somebody can answer my question is the turbo would work whit no preston going to the blower to cool it down thanks

most of the turbochargers that I have seen have to have a pressureised oil line running into them because the "bearing" is actually only a bushing sort of like the bearings in the connecting rod on the engine,and they depend on the film of oil to keep the shaft floating and to cool it.

ok you guys are talking about an intercooler,they cool the air coming out of the turbo. This improves performance but on a lawn mower isnt necessary unless your trying to squeeze every once of power out of it.

ok,i thought this all started with a smog pump? anyway if youve got coolant lines,why not grab like a small oil cooler or smething and just hook it up? you don't really need a pump,convection will somewhat take care of that,and that way it will at least help. Your mower will run hotter but youll also be moving faster(i hope) run a bit of a ram air to the cooling fins,or through the fan and this will help a bit.

I almost had a smog pump last week, but it turned out to be a water pump.
I guess I can't do this now that I bought that edelbrock head.  :-\

hmm.... but i think the head raises the compression ratio.
getting a pump is not a problem

thats true and inorder to run any type of considerable boost you will need to lower the compression to accomadate the extra fuel/air. Too bad i wanted to see if this worked or not,might have to get another engine to play with now.

As someone who has built & run engines in excess of 2000hp with all three methods of forces induction (n2o, turbo, blower) all I can say is do not take advice from someone who hasn't done it successfully.

I have to agree. Also this site is about sanctioned lawnmower racing in a safe manner. What are you truly hoping to gain "supercharging" a 5hp engine? Not trying to shoot you down but maybe look into some local lawnmower racing and before you know it you will be building a safe chassis and a safe motor the right way. Best of luck.
