You know I been racing these mowers since 1998. attending my First National event in 1999. I have seen alot of race been in alot of races I have by far seen just as rough or rougher driving with no bumpers. Yes it seems like a lot of rough driving. BUT this video is based on just one thing crashes. Understand this these guys race week in and week out with each other, Thier trust in each other is very very high, same as you would encounter on any club level of regular drivers or National for that matter. When the level of trust is that high racers tend to run a bit closer closer to each other than one would with a stranger. When running that close especially on a track that smmoth yet as slick as it is the least bump and your along for the ride. 90% of what I saw was super close racing and the cliche' crap happens. One incident the crash happened because BOTH drivers were looking back over their shoulders when infact they should have been paying attention to what was going on with themselves. To call it rough driving or say thats what bumpers cause is simply not true. I have watched the whole season of races posted for this track and the crashes are few and far between. When you do a complete video on just crashes yea it appears to be alot. Now if in fact the driving is rough who's fault is it really. It all falls back to what the officials allow. Bumpers or no bimpers is not the cause. You trian em from the get go we won't tollerate it or you do. The on track actions are simply a look into what officials allow. Sure some of those could have been avoided if one or both or all drivers involved would have given each other a bit more room. BUT Like I said when your that comfortable running with everyone you tend to run a bit tighter than you would if not. I see some very hard racing for the most part. But to call it rough or blame it specifically on the bumpers well that just ain't right.

Most of the wrecks i saw was cause by rubbing wheels not bumpers that was some good close(tight) racing.

didn't say it wasn't good close racing....but quite a bit of damage to mowers, i myself would rather race them then work on them all week repairing the damage, and being close friends with alot of fellow racers, we tend to give each other more room, not less, just my $.02

well many people race differently some like close tight races and others like leaving others plenty room that a cargo ship could go through... up close racing is fun because it gives it more edge... in sprint car racing theres a small wreck just about every race no way gettin around that other then having less cars in the main event. Im sure wrecks happen less in any mower races any were. and there accidents that thats all can be said about them things like that happen all the time..

I have a friend that I used to race with. In fact I got him into the sport. Started out just locally. We knew each other so well we could run so close to eachother you couldn't see daylight between the mowers. Many a time I we would come off the track laughing and patting each other on the back then look over at each others mowers and low and behold tire rub marks on the paint not hurting the paint just some black scuffing. We didn't even know we had touched. We raced this way every race. Spectators would comed to watch us race. Sure they come to see it all but they come to watch US. Why because we ran each other very very close so close folks would hold their breath waiting for the wreck. Like I said we knew what the other was doing before the move was made. The point is we did this for the crowd we did this for the fun we did this because we trusted each other. In all the years we raced in all the races we raced together, you know how many crashes we had... 1 just 1. It was a doosey rather impressive in the fact he went over my left shoulder doing a complete 360 landing on all 4 wheels and taking off not hardly loosing any spots. Crap happens its part of what we do. I race hard for the most part I give plenty of room but somebody like Tim where we trust each other that much like these guys do not only do we race we put on a show. Sometimes in doing that something goes wrong. The show these guys puts on is probably the reason they draw 2000 spectaters every single race. Spectaters come to see a race and a good one. And in doing that sometimes crap happens. One other thing to look at in that video. thats the Lions DEN. See how close the wall is. The track creates some of those accidents also because there is no room for error. That one reason they are completely redisgning it. To lessen those type of crashes and to give the drivers more room to manuver when things do go wrong.
