First Person columns, stories
« on: October 13, 2009, 08:51:28 am »
These are fun. I'll write one of these every month, a narrative of what its like being involved in the sport, stories about my life. Mr. VanEpps wrote a very nice account (which should be in the December edition) of how he got hooked on the sport and the lengths he's gone to to continue to promote and make his local track/club better.I also have one from George that will be in the January edition about what it takes to be a competitive racer.

These are also the types of stories that Bruce Kaufman and the Crowl family will generate to give updates on USLMRA and ARMA, respectively. And as Hitch's SOMA club grows, we'll open a column up to him, too.

These can be on any topic you want ... whether it's your first race to the joys of dealing with the local media. You can submit these to me any time, and I'll either run them as is (like with Mr. VanEpps' story) or I'll turn it into a feature story.

You can write your season recaps this way if you're an official with your club

Hope these help. If you have any questions, get ahold of me at any time in any way you want.

The sad thing is I just wrote everything I learned after five years and $15,000 later at Ball State University. Who should I send the invoice to?

That sounds really cool can't wait to read them.
Race for the little girl in the stands that you used to be!
The one that cheered for every racer no matter who they were!
The one that said Daddy, I can't wait to be on the track like them?
