Evan, thanks for the feedback. So far, I've emailed 30 editions out, and I'm hoping those got passed along at least once and looked over. As the editor, sure I'd like to put out a 52-page mag, but that won't happen for a while. Maybe someday it will. Right now, I can promise it won't be fewer than 16 pages, and I'm hoping to get it up to 20 or 24 by the time January rolls around. That's the tricky part because for press logistics, binding and all, it has to in increments of four.
I can tell you that we have a lot of stuff on the fire for January. These next couple months will be to get everyone acclimated with the product, get used to the deadlines and to use me as a resource to get better as a writer, which in turn will allow me to put out a better product.
Here are a few things I'd like to have ready to go by the January edition, and believe it or not, it's right around the corner:
Rooster's column, contributions.
Tech Tips-I've already been in conversation with Carrol at EC, and he or George is going to write this. Two stand-up men that know how to work a socket.
ROAD TRIP - I'm heading to E.C. to take pictures of the place (I'm hoping I can pack my 12 hp Briggs along) in December. From this trip, I can generate maybe 10 stories. Ideally, I'd like to profile the staff, from president to the kid that cleans the bathrooms, just so we all get a chance to no one of the No.1 distributers in mower parts.
DRIVER PROFILE-I'd like to make an questionairre and post it here and randomly pick someone's profile to display. Sometimes off beat questions (kid friendly for the JPs), like "If you had a choice between The Office or Two and a Half Men, which would you be most likely to watch..."
PRODUCT PROFILES - We'd rotate between EC, Hitch, Gteam, ARC and anyone else that has a product that they like. Give them a chance to promote it in the producer's own words.
Like I said, there's a lot on table right now. I just need to get them straightened out and put a decent "Budget/Index" together to serve you all better.
Aaron
P.S. Keep the comments coming.
