cracking plugs

i have a 17 horse kawasaki single cyl,and it keeps cracking the plug and quits running .any ideas out there . and im still looking for a carb for this engine.any ideas or help who be greatly apreciated .thanks

What brand of spark plug are you using budman?

I may be wrong but don't sound like the right plug. Sounds like the plug is a little too long. I'll see what I can find.

  Add indexing washers till it clears.

It truly sounds like you are on your own. If you are cracking the OEM plug, try upping or downing the plug
s heat range until you have found what works for your situation. Colder until they foul, hotter until they detonate, or run too hot.

the 8es is a pretty cold plug

Bud I checked and NGK BPR5ES in that particular engine.
