adjustable rear pulley

some one help me. i need an adjustable rear pully for my second mower. it needs to be the 2.8-3.3in for a 5/8shaft. i am so close now with regular pulleys its not funny.
 i need the pulley for the Harrisonburg race and really need someone that is going to the race to meet me with it there. i leave Thursday morning to go up. thanks, Robert

MSC sells them, you could have it shipped where your going, they are like 25$.  They work slick

um better hit up a tcs and bring some tubing and a hammer and open or close one up to get it right. i was in same boat at start off season i feel your pain.

i found where i can get one, at grainger, slightly off my route up but they have one in stock. so i should have one in hand tomorrow morning and on by friday morning.

how do these adjustables work? are they any good? they sound like a good idea if they work. any info would be great

one side of the pulley is threaded and screws down to the other side. they have different sizes so you can always get the one you need. if you want a pic, here is the link to the grainger page with a pic of it. it is the second one down

glad you found one i got one from there also but i got the cast one. and then milled the threads on both sides so instead of half turns to adjust i got quater turns to adjust by.

WOW.. do you use an A or B belt in those for racing?  Do you have to have adjustment on your clutch to compensate for the change in pulley size but keep it tight?

i got the pulley on this evening, had to make some room. the pulley is taller than my old one.
my old pulley was so close to the 8:1 ratio there is no need to change belts or adjust clutch
i checked it and it is dead on now. hopefully the belt was seated good. will check ratio again later
