WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the best mower i have ever seen by far! I saw this and called the local john deere supplier and bought a john deere 111. I just had a few questions if you dont mind.
1. What size tires are on the front and back?
2. About how much did this cost you for just like the parts not the metal.
3. What kind of motor is in it?
4. How fast do u thin it goes?
5. Is this the peerless 700 the trans that came with it?
6. How long did this take?

Can't answer any of the other questions for ya but the 700 tranny didn't come stock in the 111. All that I have seen came from the factory with a peerless 800 series transaxle.

I'm not much into and I don't know much about the pullers but I honestly don't think it would make a good puller. If I were gonna try to pull with it Id buy an 820 peerless but before I did that I'd check with some of the pullers on here to see if it would be durable or not.

Good to see another box hood JD out there.

Mine has kind of been on hold, but I'm working out the details for the clutch/brake system and need to figure out how to finish off the steering. Hope to have it driving this winter. I think I'm overcomplicating things but it should be pretty sweet when done.

Build thread in on the second page of the racing mower builds.

ok I know this is an old post, but just want to clearify.

the cut he made, where he cut the stock rearend holder, below the frame, is that a US and ARMA legal cut? I know the trailer hitch piece is but wasnt sure on the stock axle holder. Again just wanting to clearify before making a bad cut and having to weld it back on.  12th pic down on his list.

I am in the process of stripping my 111 John Deere and doing stuff to the frame before adding axles and stuff. thanks.

those of you that have used this style machine, did you reuse the plate that holds the stock clutch in place? I was gona reuse it for strength and then add a plate for the 700 under the fenders. Also on the engine plate, did you cut all the what looks like belt guides out of there and add different ones once you got your engine pulley on? Thanks. I wish the guy that built this mowchine was still here or active.
