Lift kit spacers?????
« on: August 08, 2006, 12:09:13 pm »
I was wondering if anybody has any ideas or gas any spacers used to jack up the back end of the frame on a mower.  It needs to have holes for 2/16 bolts roughly 2-3 inches apart.  I am building a mud mower not a racer. I know this probably wont make it plow through mud better but it will look cool and it needs to be jacked up to fit the fourwheeler tires on soon.

Lower the axle...(Drop it down, add blocks between trans axle and frame...)

Then add a "reverse"  jack shaft to lower the drive belt to run tranny...

That's opposite of what racers do to "lower" their chassis, but the principal is the same...

Also want to "Lock" the rear axle for posi traction...don't want the diff letting one tire spin when in the mud...

Raising  front is simple enough, unbolt pivot add longer plates with new pivot hole and bolt in

Would think you "want" front pivot to allow rear axle to work the contours...

Might have to lengthen steering rod..

Well you just weld the spider gears..You can weld the axle teeth  to the teeth on each side..

why does everyone like welding the spider gers!!!!

take 2 old spider gears and take the ones that are in there completly out and see if the for line up COMPLETLY. if they do the insert the spider gears back in ( the ones that still let it spin the one tire)then grind on either side of the other spider gear till they all fit in. i find that way is WAY stronger then welding the gears!!!

for my spice transaxel the D cut sidergears were the only ones that worked PROPERLY
