How close can the coils be at full lift before you run into issues..

Also, if I increase the lift of a stock cam, do you have to change the springs if you don't have coil bind at full lift and are able to shim the springs?

I was looking at that little 8 hp in the shed this weekend that is begging to be played with..

I try to keep at least .050 between the coils.Stock springs (use 2 exaust springs) will work but if ya can afford it dual springs are the way to go.

It's the RPM that makes the valve float right? But if I want to run the motor over governed RPM.. I should put in better springs or just shim them?

You should have about 45 pounds seat pressure .Ryan has a spring tester that goes up to 250 pounds. He could check them for you

I was thinking... has anyone used or retro fitted their engine to run on a radius lifter instead of a mushroom lifter?
