Jiang-dong
« on: April 24, 2009, 12:11:53 am »
Was reading the rules for a local Karting track today. And came across what they called a "Jiang-dong" 6.5hp 195cc engine. Has anybody ever heard of these or used these? and if so what did you think of it and what does it have to offer in stock form or for factory internals?

:bash: I should have known that. Have heard about the Honda clones and have read a little about them but Have never heard anyone refer to them as the "Jiang-dong" engine. They just call it a Honda clone

I last saturday I stomped all over some built 14.5 OHV briggs with a BONE STOCK 6.5 clone engine. The only thing I did was take off the gov and put on a pipe. I was using the stock air filter and turning 6,000RPM out of the box.

Some places are running a "Clon" class or "Blue plate", "blue motor"...thet engines are blue. All our allowed to do is pull governor, change exhaust and airfilter.

Because their rules tell them they have to, it is a cart class. lots of people race cast flywheels.

Forget that, I just had a honda clone that the flywheel let lose on a fun kart at stock RPM in the shop today. Thank gosh the kid was not hurt at all who was driving it.
Needless to say, I just ordered a billet flywheel tonight.
