hi i have a montgomery ward mower with a 10hp briggs and what i beleive is a 800 series 5 speed with reverse tranny is it worth building or should i change anything

800 series Peerless would be a transaxle...
700 series would be a 5 speed w/reverse transmission

Both are known good racers!

Actually IMO 800 is a little weak for racing...

What class you setting up for...?

hi thanks for the replies not sure what class i'm going to build for yet. i ran in a lawnmower poker run for the heart association a couple of weeks ago and over 120 mowers showed up and mine was the slowest so now i want to be the fastest without putting alot of money in the motor. and from reading these forums i've learned alot. the numbers on the tranny tag are mod 813a peerless 22917811, any more info on what i could do with what i got or what would be the best setup for me would be greatly appreciated thank you
